Oliver PP??
Species: Blue and Gold Macaw
Name: Oliver
Adoption Fee: £500
Location: Rotherham
Cage Supplied: Yes, but needs a new one
Introduction:
Hi, I’m Oliver, a beautiful macaw!
History/Background:
Oliver had previously been adopted through Problem Parrots, but his carer unfortunately fell seriously ill and he has had to come back into the charity.
Current Condition:
Oliver is a beautiful bird and is in good health.
Training:
He can become startled around people holding large objects near him (such as a vacuum cleaner or a brush), but if he can see them coming he can tolerate them – he is capable of stepping up, too, but is nervous with new people. He will need ongoing training to help him come out of his shell!
Diet:
Oliver eats Johnston and Jeff lean and fit parrot seed mix, as well as Top’s pellets and ‘chop’ (with a mix of fresh food) in the evening. He loves cashews and walnuts in the shell, too. He eats very well and is an easy boy to feed!
Enrichment:
His favourite thing to do is to chatter with you while he sits on his cage, but he also loves climbing on java trees, tapping his beak on the window. He doesn’t really play with toys, but isn’t destructive with other things in the room either.
Summary:
Oliver has learned to be less easily frightened in his safehouse and is a great bird to have around now! He enjoys the company of people and likes to climb and look at people passing by outside (he even taps on the window to them!). He goes to bed when he knows it is time for dinner and isn’t overly loud for a macaw – he is only vocal when he knows it is time for food. Overall, he is a wonderful, beautiful bird, so please don’t hesitate to apply below if you think you could give him a loving home.

Looking for new homes
Birds are often considered easy pets to care for, but many people do not fully understand their needs, habits, and requirements. When rehoming a parrot, we meticulously select and assess each request to ensure that both the parrot and the home are safe, happy, and healthy. Our goal is to ensure that your parrot becomes a cherished member of your family.
