Introduction

My name is Gregory, AKA Mr G or gregglebum, and I am a 26 year old white capped Amazon, with a BIG personality and an even BIGGER voice with lots of stories to tell! Despite my small body, you will definitely hear me coming!

History/Background

Gregory has come back into the charity due to a change in circumstances and through no fault of his own.

Personality/Behaviour

He is a little bird with a big character, and he is very easy to get on with. If it were up to him, he would spend all day sat on his safe house dad’s shoulder chatting away in his ear and giving him a groom! He loves toys, and currently has a selection lining the walls of his cage so he has plenty of room to move about, and he especially loves shredding his pinatas and rope/toys/perches. Basically anything he can destroy and rip apart! He also loves exploring and is slowly becoming more and more independant.

He doesn’t enjoy a shower, but does love taking his time and having a bath in his water bowl. You may have to top it up several times as he enjoys a splish splash!

He has a very strong preference for a male carer, but will tolerate a female if his favourite person isn’t around. This being said, he does have a history of biting/attacking female carers, however he has not shown this behaviour in his current safehouse.

He doesn’t mind living with other bird but he isn’t a fan when they wander onto his cage and he can become a little territorial.

He can be very stubborn and very clingy, even going to the lengths of flying across the house in search of his favourite person. He likes company during the day, but he is more than happy to listen to the radio on his own if you go out.

He is also extremely vocal, especially if he can hear you but cannot see you. He seems to have a severe fear of missing out! However in the evenings he likes his peace and quiet, and is much happier in his own space away from the main living area so that his beauty sleep is not disturbed.

Training

Greg does not step up onto anyones hands, but is perfectly happy stepping onto a branch for just about anyone! He is very easy to bribe, and will do anything for a nut, but he can be very snatchy with food and does not seem to mind if he catches your fingers instead! He will need a very patient carer to continue his training, however he shows a keen interest to try.

Diet

Greg has fresh fruit and veg for breakfast every morning and enjoys a scoop of Tidymix for his dinner. He won’t hesitate to let you know when it is time for dinner by shouting as loud as he can. He typically likes to try new things, usually his carers food that he hopes to share, but he can take some persuasion to eat his chop!

His all time favourite is a chunk of corn on the cob!
