Introduction:

Hi, my name is Gregory and I am a White Capped Amazon. I am around 26 years old.

I am a fiesty boy and I like to get my own way! I can be very bossy and noisy if things don’t go my way.

I would prefer a male human to look after my needs. I don’t like females very much and if I get the chance I will attack them.

I don’t mind other birds, but I can sometimes become territorial if I decide I don’t like a particular bird.

I like to be left alone, but not on my own. If you leave me on my ow I will make a loud, high pitched whistle until you come back. Unless its dark and then it’s bedtime!

I will need a very firm male human as I do tend to try and own them, and if they don’t like it I can bite. Like I said, I like things my way!

When it is bedtime I like the TV off and no noise at all, so I am really not suited to being in the main living area, though I will want to be there with you in the day.

I love my food! I love most fruits and vegetables and I love my seed. (Johnston & Jeff low sunflower). I like porridge, mash with peas, carrots and a walnut or three!!

I don’t like being showered but will often take a bath myself in my waterbowl.

I don’t like hanging things in my cage as I have no interest in them at all. I like rope perches, because they are nice and soft and if i get bored I can chew them.

I have my own cage, which is perfect size for me, but I would much prefer to be in a big outside aviary with other birds like me and maybe just come in to my cage to sleep at night.

Summary:

Gregory aka ‘Goober’ is a funny little boy! Though he doesn’t like women at all. He can be very moody at times, and if he bites, he gets put back in his cage. He loves company when he is in his cage, but when he is out of the cage he is the boss bird!

There is a warning sign when he is about to launch, he bears down and wiggles his wings then zooms. He is only little, but when he bites he can bite hard. He will need a man with the patience of a saint and a very firm nature to be his forever human. I really feel he would be best suited in an aviary surrounding with other birds similar to him.

As mentioned, he loves food and he eats mostly everything given to him.

He doesn’t like toys, all he wants to do is fly around and then settle for nap from time to time and then fly around some more.

He will fly to his human and sit on them and nap, so he does like human contact but its on his terms.

when its bedtime he becomes a grumpy old man if there is any noise, so he is best in a room on his own where the light is off and it is peaceful. His bedtime is usually around 8pm in the summer and 6pm in the winter.
