Introduction:
Hello everyone! I’m a lovely, fully feathered Orange Winged Amazon called Harry.
Harry has a lovely temperament and is a gentle parrot. He is currently living in a bird room with other parrots and gets on lovely with them all. Harry did have a parrot friend, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, since then he has been part of a flock of a variety of parrots from caiques, cockatoo’s to macaws. Harry loves the company of other birds and will allow them to preen him. He is a shy, timid Amazon but does like to shout Hello when it’s feeding time. He also loves you sitting and talking with him and he will respond to this.
Training
Harry will need time to get to know and trust you, but would be an ideal companion in time, a little patience will be needed.
History/Background
Harry has come nack into the charity through no fault of his own.
Enrichment
Harry has lived in a bird room with others for the past four years, where he has the freedom to do as he pleases. He does love to watch the world go by out of the window. He has never ventured into the outdoor aviary, but will quite happily watch the others from the window. He doesn’t really play with toys, but will have a nibble on them now and then.
Diet
Harry does love his low sunflower seed mostly, but will eat chopped vegetables and fruit.
Summary
All in all, Harry is a lovely bird, not aggressive at all. He is very quiet for an Amazon also. With time, patience and one to one training, he would be the ideal companion. He would also benefit from the company of other birds if you have them.
