Introduction
Hello Everyone, I’m a lovely, fully feathered Orange Winged Amazon and I am about 6 years old.’
Floyd has a lovely temperament and is a gentle parrot. He likes a good head scratch, chatting to you, sitting on your shoulder and is also quite affectionate.
He can be absolutely adorable and really deserves a good home. He is quite inquisitive, and you can tell he is always taking in his environment and what is going on around him.
Floyd is not overly loud, loves to repeat your laugh, say hi and wish you a happy birthday, amongst other things.
Floyd is a good flier and loves to explore. He is not destructive in the house. Floyd is happy to sit on top of his cage or on an outside perch and is very happy to just watch the world go by.
Floyd doesn’t have a preference to male or female and will step up on your hand.
Floyd is happy to live with other birds, but he will not share his food! That’s all his!
Training:
Floyd will need time to get to know and trust you, but would be an ideal companion in time, a little patience will be needed.
History/Background:
Floyd has come back into to the charity through no fault of his own.
Enrichment:
Floyd does have a few toys, but he does not play with them much. He only likes a few in his cage.
Floyd absolutely loves his bath time, and looks like a drowned rat when he’s finished. He would spend hours in the sink if given the chance!
Diet:
Floyd loves Johnston and Jeff seed mix. He loves to eat with you and will steal of your plate if you are not careful!
Getting him to eat fresh veg and fruit is a bit of a challenge as he will sometimes have a bite, but mostly ends up on the floor. So this will need to be encouraged.
Floyds favourite treat is a banana chip, he will do anything for one! So this may come in handy with training!
Summary:
All in all Floyd is a lovely bird, very chatty, not aggressive at all. He has a lot of love to give and just enjoys life! He loves sitting with you watching TV, he doesn’t redesign doors, or strip wallpaper. With time, patience and one to one training, he would be the ideal companion!
Floyd would make your house a home!
