Introduction:
‘My name is Tutu, I am a Orange Wing Amazon, about 10 years old.’
Tutu is fully feathered, and has a lovely temperament, very gentle. Tutu likes a good head scratch and can be very affectionate.
Tutu has no preference and loves men and women, though will not step up on hands.
In the morning Tutu likes to do a quick voice warm up for about 10 minutes and then thats it for the day! He can be loud, but not too bad.
Tutu can say Hi and likes to copy people laughing!
Tutu doesn’t really fly, and is happy to sit on top of his cage or on a perch outside the cage all day. He isn’t destructive.
Tutu mixes well with other birds and has lived with two others in his safehouse.
History/Background:
Tutu was previously adopted by Problem Parrots, but due to a change of circumstances has had to return to the charity, through no fault of his own.
Training:
Tutu will need further training to help you bond with him and teach him to step up. He currently will not step up on hands, but will step up to a perch or stick, so is easy to move around.
Diet:
Tutu is a funny eater!
His safehouse has continually tried fresh veg and chop but Tutu won’t touch it and it ends up on the floor. This would need to be continued and encouraged. One week he will like fresh orange and the next week he will throw it at you!
Tutu loves his Johnson and Jeff Parrot Mix.
His favorite treat is dried banana and he would do anything for some!
Enrichment:
Tutu has toys, but doesn’t play with them that much. He only likes a few toys in his cage.
Tutu is not a huge fan of bath time, but sometimes enjoys a spray with the mister, other times he walks away!
Summary:
Tutu is a lovely bird and not aggressive at all. His safehouse thinks he is the ‘perfect bird’ that isn’t overly loud, doesn’t strip wallpaper or redesign your doors and is content to watch the world go by!
When Tutu gets to know you he is a lovely, gentle parrot who would thrive with one to one attention and deserves the best home!

Some of our feathered friends
Birds are often considered easy pets to care for, but many people do not fully understand their needs, habits, and requirements.
