Milo PP838

Milo PP838

Species: Senegal
Name: Milo
Adoption Fee: £225

Location: Northumberland
Cage Supplied: No, I will need a new one please!

Introduction:

Hi! My name is Milo and I am the most loving and adorable Senegal if you are a lady! I will come and sit on your hand, your shoulder, I come when I am called, you can scratch my head and you can do almost anything you like with me! Needless to say my safehouse mam is already totally in love with me!

BUT.. If you are a gentleman, then you better stay away as I can turn into a devil and try and bite you!

I have to admit that I can get a bit over excited, and so I have been plucking feathers on my chest and back. My safehouse mam says we will work on that and try and grow the feathers back, but I guess that will take time and patience.

History/Background:

I was told that I am around 14 years old and the humans don’t know if I am a boy or a girl. I was previously adopted for many years, but have returned to the charity through no fault of my own.

Training:

My safehouse Mam says I need to learn again to keep myself entertained and not totally depend on the presense of a female human. I have already started to play with my toys but still have a bit to go.

Diet:

My previous seed diet was not ideal, but I have very quickly learned to eat Harrisons pellets. My safehouse Mam is really proud of my easy transition. I also love my fruit and vegetables mix and tuck into anything that is presented. My favourite nuts are almonds and walnuts, but I do like cashew nuts too!

Enrichment:

All I want when I am out of my cage is to be busy with my favourite human, but I was told that I also have to learn to keep myself busy with other bird safe stuff, so my safehouse Mam has already started to trick me into foraging.

Summary:

Milo is a very sweet and adorable bird and has a lot of potential to become a ‘perfect bird’ at least if you are a lady! He has to be carefully managed to make sure he doesn’t oberbond or get over stimulated. He definitely needs a home with a female carer and if there is a man in the house, the man has to fully understand that Milo may not accept him and possibly attack.

Milo wants all the attention for himself and does not like other birds coming in between him and his favourite human.

So for the interaction with other birds Milo is currently in a bird room where he is let out when the others are in their cages, the plan is to gradually introduce them and we will update on progress!
