Cinnamon, Lemon & NamNam PP1257, PP1258, PP1261
Species: Cockateils
Name: Cinnamon (Female), Lemon (Male) and Namnam (Male)
Adoption Fee: £90
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Cage Supplied: Yes, but needs a small repair on the door.
Introduction:
Cinnamon & Lemon are a bonded pair, and NamNam has bonded to them both. Cinnamon and Lemon are approximately 7 years old, but NamNam’s age is unknown.
History/Background:
Cinnamon and Lemon were originally adopted as a pair, and then NamNam joined them later and created the trio! They have come back into the charity through no fault of their own.
Current Presentation:
Cinnamon has been a little over preened by Lemon, but otherwise is in good health. She has suffered with night frights, so needs a night light on. If she does have a night fright it spooks the other two.
Lemon has a deformed toe, but it doesn’t affect him in anyway and he is in good health,
Nam Nam has plucked his under wing area and his legs.
Training:
Cinnamon will step up, and Lemon is likely to follow. Nam Nam prefers to step onto an arm rather than hands or fingers. They do not have a preference for male or female handlers and will behave the same with anyone and everyone. They would all benefit from further training.
Diet:
They all eat Tidymix seed diet with some Zupreem fruit blend (budgie size). Chopped vegetables, brocolli is a favourite. They also love Nutriberries and Millet as a treat.
Enrichment:
The all love toys and time outside the cage to fly and explore.
Summary:
A fun trio to have around, they are not overly noisy but have their moments. NamNam whistles ‘If you’re happy and you know it.’ He also says ‘What you doing?’ and ‘Peekaboo!’. They love company and will happily sit on your head or arm, as well as wandering up and down the back of the sofa and the floor. At dinner time watch your plate as they will readily help themselves regardless of what you are eating!
Lemon loves playing with and chewing rings, the shinier the better, and doesn’t care if there is a finger attached or not! This can be a great way to encourage him to step up.
They have lived with other birds, (Teils and Budgies), but the boys can be very protective of Cinnamon. They are also used to dogs and have lived with them in both their previous home and safehouse.
