Nina PP1476
Species: African Grey
Name: Nina
Adoption Fee: CITES
Location: South Derbyshire
Cage Supplied: No, I will need a new one please.
Introduction:
Nina is a beautiful African Grey who has shown a preference to female handlers.
History/Background:
Nina is estimated to be around 15 -17 years old. She is in great condition.
Nina has lived with a bonded pair of greys in her previous home, but the female was unfriendly towards her, so she is wary of other birds. She has shown an interest in befriending another quiet grey in her safehouse though, which is promising.
Nina is a very sweet, happy and vocal girl, who loves having plenty of time out of the cage to fly and explore. She is very agile and particularly likes flying from room to room.
She is happy to step up onto an arm and will happily ride around on your head or shoulder for a while. Especially if you are en-route to the fridge!
Nina does accept small amounts of head scratches, but on her own terms and once she trusts you.
During her safehouse stay she has shown some hormonal behaviours from time to time which will need to be discouraged. She can also be a little cage territorial at times.
Diet:
Nina is currently eating s healthy veggie chop mix with a small amout of fruit in the morning. Sweetcorn and Blueberries are particular favourites. Nina eats Harrisons High Potency pellets.
She loves a walnut piece or almond as a foraging treat or reward but will also help herself to your food without waiting to be asked!
Summary:
All in all she is a lovely girl who really deserves the best forever home. If you think you could be Nina’s new home please apply below!
