Introduction:

‘My name is Sid. I am a beautiful Blue and Gold Macaw about 13 years old. I’m looking for a lady to call my own!’

Sidney is a lovely boy, with a sweet nature, he needs a female carer. He is not too noisy. He loves to sing and be bounced up and down when singing together. He will eat a good range of foods and his feather condition shows it!

History/Background:

Sid was previously adopted by Problem Parrots about 12 years ago, but due to a change of circumstances sadly he has to return to the charity, through no fault of his own.

Training:

Sidney has been trained to step up on command, he does enjoy clicker training using a chopstick to touch objects on command and pick up objects.

He has recently been learning how to do a ‘hi five’ with his foot. He is a clever boy.

Diet:

Sidney has chop every day, with a range of beans and lentils, and a small amount of fruit. Banana is his favourite.

He likes a small piece of toast for breakfast. Sidney eats a good variety of foods and is not extremely fussy.

Sidney is currently on Tropican Maintenance Pellets and has a limited amount of nuts in and out of the shell.

Enrichment:

Sidney has hanging toys and swings, which he will play with.

He also needs an endless supply of cardboard boxes as he enjoys shredding them up.

He enjoys rolling a ball around and throwing it at you!  All of his toys will come with him.
