Tiki PP957
Species: Galah Cockatoo
Name: Tiki
Location: Stafford
Cage Supplied: Yes
Adoption fee : £300
Introduction:
Hi, I’m Tiki. I’m a 7 year old male Galah who loves to spend time with people. I love having time out of my cage and having tickles with my humans. I’m quite friendly most of the time, although I will get jealous of young people!
History/Background:
Tiki came back into the charity through no fault of his own.
Current Condition:
Tiki is a beautiful, fully feathered bird.
Training:
Tiki knows how to step up, but can be nippy when he doesn’t want to do something, so he would benefit from ongoing training to help him with this.
Diet:
Tiki currently enjoys Neophema parrot seed mix and fresh fruit and vegetables in the evening. He is a good eater and will eat most of what he is given. One of his favourite treats is dried chili!
Enrichment:
Tiki loves to play with his toys and enjoys spending time out of his cage interacting with people.
Summary:
Tiki has settled well into his safehouse and is a friendly bird who enjoys spending time with people. He has shown interest in other birds, but is frightened of bigger parrots. He will need an endless supply of toys to play with to keep him occupied, particularly as he has been known to pluck his feathers in the past. This will need to be monitored in his new home.
Tiki is a lovely parrot who will need a home with firm boundaries. He needs a confident owner as he needs to know who is in charge! He needs a home where he can have plenty of time out of his cage, and while he isn’t keen on birds who are bigger than him, he enjoys getting to know birds around his size. Tiki wouldn’t be suitable for a home with very young children, as he has become jealous of them in the past, but overall he is a lovely bird and will make a home very happy. If you could give him the home he needs, please don’t hesitate to apply below!
