Sunny PP991
Species: Lesser Sulphur Crested
Name: Sunny
Adoption Fee: £275
Location:
Cage Supplied: Yes
Introduction:
Hi! My name is Sunny, well my mum calls me ‘Bubba’ most of the time. She only calls me Sunny if I’m being naughty or Sunny Bum if she is being smushy! hehe!
I am an adorable boy and I am funny too. I love to dance and whistle with people and make them laugh.
I love to be buried deep into a cardboard box, gnawing my way back out! I will do this all day long so I will need a huge supply of boxes!
I love wooden toys to be placed in the box and the lid closed, so I can investigate and gnaw my way in to see what I can find!
History/Background:
I was adopted by Problem Parrots many years ago, but due to a change of circumstances I have had to return to the charity.
Current Routine:
When my mum gets up in the morning, she opens my cage so I can come out for a big stretch and a morning kiss. She will make my breakfast (porridge or eggs, I’m not fussy!) then she will fill my seed dish and bring me fresh water, (just incase I feel like a nibble of food instead of cardboard or wood) and some new boxes. Then I am set up for a busy day.
I do like to take a nap after gnawing for a couple of hours, then I am ready to go again!
Mum keeps trying to give me colourful food, but yuk! Though I do like peas and I know she hides carrots and broccoli in my mash., but the mash is so yummy, I will just eat it all up.
Sometimes if I am hungry and she doesn’t know I have eaten all my seed, I will stand on my empty bowl and say hello to her. She soon learned what was going on! hehe!
Mum says I am a good boy and I am no trouble at all. I love my cuddles with my mum and she gives me lots of head scratches and we have lots of chit chat too. I have a dad too, but I don’t cuddle with him. I might let him scratch my head now and then, but not very often. I have bitten him a few times when he has gone to touch me, because I only like mum to touch me!
When it is time for bed my mum says ‘night night time’ and I give her lots of kisses and tell her she’s a good boy! Then she will close my gate and watch me get comfy on my perch, before she turns the light off and leaves the room. I am usually good, but sometimes, I don’t want her to go, so I will shout loudly to make her come back. She doesn’t come back, so I just go to sleep!
I am a good boy and mum says I am the best boy ever. I don’t really shout much, but I will let you know when someone knocks the door, or the phone rings. Mum says I am a guard bird!
I don’t know how old I am, but I am full of life and a happy, happy boy with lots of love to give.
Diet:
I enjoy mash with carrot and broccoli, peas, porridge and scrambled eggs.
Johnston and Jeff Lean and Fit Seed. My favourite treats are Pine Nuts.
Summary:
Sunny is a beautiful, loving Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and will be a great companion for a female. He doesn’t dislike men but he will tend to attack from time to time, so caution is a must.
He doesn’t mind other birds and he loves watching children run around and play, but he hasn’t had any physical contact with a child. (He is in his cage when they are present.)
He is good when he is left on his own, but we haven’t left him for long periods, maybe a couple of hours or so.
Sunny loves company and would be best situated in the same room as you during the day time.
He loves Pine Nuts but we have had to start giving him them without the shells on as he shaves his feathers with them!
Overall he is the best, sweetest, loving and loyal bird ever. He deserves the best life and so much love and care. If you think you can provide this please apply below!
