Species: White Fronted Amazon
Name: Gregory

Cage Supplied: Yes
Introduction:
Hi! My name is Gregory, I am a White Fronted Amazon. I am around 26 years old. I’m quite a feisty boy and like to get my own way.
I would prefer a male to look after my needs as I don’t like female humans very much (at all) and if I get the chance I will attack them.
I can be very bossy and very noisy if things don’t go my way!
History/Background:
I was adopted by Problem Parrots many years ago, but due to a change of circumstances I have had to return to the charity.
Current Presentation:
I like to be out of my cage and be free to fly around. I would an outside setting to do this, rather than having to fly indoors. I don’t mind other birds, but I can sometimes be territorial if I decide I don’t like a particular bird.
I like to be left alone, but not left on my own. If you leave me on my own I will make the loudest high pitched whistle, and it will be continuous until you come back, unless it’s dark because then I just think it’s bedtime!
I will need a very firm male, because I do tend to try them, and own them and if they don’t like it I will bite. Like I said, I like things my way!
I don’t like things hanging in my cage, as I have no interest in them at all. I like a rope perch because they are nice and soft and if I get bored I can have a nibble on it.
When it’s bedtime I like the TV off and no noise at all, so I am really not suited to being in the main living area at night, although I would want to be in there all day with my human, unless I am outside.
I don’t like being showered and will often take a bath myself in my water bowl.
I am not really a messy boy, like those big white birds that I currently share a home with, so cleaning my cage and the area around it isn’t such a chore.
I have my own cage, which is a perfect size for me but I would so much prefer to be in a big outside cage maybe with other birds similar to me, and just maybe have my cage to sleep in at night.
Diet:
I love my food! I like most fruits and vegetables and I love my seed, (Johnston and Jeff low Sunflower) porridge and mashed potatoes with peas and carrots.
I love a walnut or two, or three!
Summary:
So, Gregory (aka Goober) is a funny little boy. Though he doesn’t like women at all. I have loved him being part of our family. He can be very moody at times and he has attacked me a lot, but he gets put back in his cage when this happens. His behaviour towards me has been consistent and no matter what I do he will always attack. I can sit and talk through the cage with him and he hates when I leave the room, but when he is out of the cage he is the BOSS BIRD! I quite often sit with a blanket on my lap ready to throw over my head when he launches at me! lol There is a warning sign when he is about to launch. He bares down and wiggles his wings and then zooms! lol.
He is only little, but oh my, he does bite hard. He will need a man with the patience of a saint and a very firm nature as his forever human. I really feel that he would be best suited in an aviary surrounding, with other birds similar to him. As mentioned, he loves his food and will eat almost anything you give him. He doesn’t like toys, all he wants to do it fly around and then settle for a nap from time to time, then fly around some more!
He will fly to his human and sit on them and nap, so he does like human contact, but it’s on his terms.
When it is time for bed he becomes a grumpy old man if there is any noise, so he is best in a room on his own, where the lights are out and it is peaceful. His bedtime is usually around 8pm in the summer and 6pm in the winter.
So if you think you can take on the challenge, please be my forever male human and give me the happy life I deserve.
