Description:

Introduction:

Hi, my name is Princess and what a princess I am!

I’ve been in my safehouse a few weeks now and have settled in so well. I will accept tickles and scratches from both my safehouse mum, dad and their younger son and absolutely love them. I tilt my head in hope someone will tickle me. I love my time out of the cage and love nothing more than to sit on my safehouse dad’s knee and show him how pretty and gorgeous I really am. My safehouse mum doesn’t get a look in when dad is about but when he’s at work my safehouse mum is my personal head tickler. I am a lovely natured girl and a snuggle bum. I happily sit and whistle all day long and I do like to talk and can say a few words such as “what you doing?” and “love you”.

History/Background:

Princess lived with her previous owners along with a Galah Cockatoo and an Amazon parrot and was a much loved bird.

Current Presentation:

Princess is a fully feathered and a healthy-looking bird. She is a proper snuggle bum who loves nothing more than head tickles.

Training:

Princess will step up on command and accept tickles. She is however a little cage territorial, so we have to clean her cage and change her feeding bowls when she is out of it. Other than that she is very trainable and do not think you will have a problem with harness training in the future.

Diet:

She is currently eating Lafeber’s small bird seed along with lots of fresh fruit and veg. Princess isn’t too fussy when it comes to food and will happily eat chop also.

Enrichment:

Princess loves to play, and we have provided her with lots of foot toys on the bottom of her cage which she enjoys playing with.

Summary:

All in all Princess is a pleasure to safehouse. She would be ok with a home with older children but not too sure on younger ones as yet as she can be a little nippy when her favourite person is around. She likes the company of other birds so that wouldn’t be a problem. She doesn’t mind other animals either. With love and encouragement she will make a wonderful friend for life.
