Description:

Introduction

Hello my name is Boo and I’m a beautiful Senegal. You can view any photos and videos through the problem parrots extra Facebook page and searching #Boo

History/Background:  I came back into the charity due to no fault of my own, my adopter could not keep me.

Current Presentation:

I’m an adorable little floof ball, I do have some feathers missing but that just makes me unique these are now starting to grow back

Training:

I’ve had no form of training, we’re just working on my confidence and that hands are a good thing, ive gotten a lot braver i still am not keen on hands but will take treats

Diet:

I’m on tidymix seed and get given a variety of fruit and vegetables in the mornings.

Enrichment:

I like my shredding toys to keep me busy but I really enjoy ripping up my newspaper. I do enjoy my whistling and I’ve started to pick other whistling sounds from the other birds.

Summary:

  • Boo would ideally benefit from being the only bird so that he gets your full attention to bring him out of his shell more and to build up his confidence that people are nice, however he’s not nasty towards other birds. Boo will make someone a lovely bird with the time and patience.

I’m currently in a safehouse with 6 other birds. I’m out my cage all day and I like to interact with the other birds. I settle down at around 8pm and I’m not covered over. I’m a really nervous bird and I’m unsure about hands coming towards me but my safehouse is currently working on that to try and reassure me that this is a good thing. I currently won’t go to anybody even though I really want to and see them on the sofa, again it’s something that we’re working on. I enjoy sitting on top of my cage whistling with the other birds and playing with my toys. I’m not phased by the other birds or even the dog. My best thing to do is wolf whistling, and even though I’m scared of hands I will take a treat from you.
