Adoption fee: CITES
Cage supplied: Yes
Introduction:
Hi, I’m Bobbie! I am around 24 years old and would be best suited to a male carer.
History/Background:
I was previously adopted through Problem Parrots with a loving family, but through a change of circumstances, I have to look for a new forever home. I was believed to be a male bird, but have since proven everyone wrong by laying eggs!
Current Presentation:
I have plucked lots of my feathers and this is a habit now that seems to be difficult to stop. I am still a very beautiful bird though!
Training:
I have been harness trained, know how to step up, and have learned to give a kiss for a treat, too!
Diet:
I enjoy a varied diet of fruit, vegetables, and seed. I like my vegetables warm, and can be very fussy!
Enrichment:
I love to be out of my cage so I can explore and play, and in the warm weather I like to spend time in the aviary outside. I like playing with toys and playing games, like throwing around rolled up paper balls with my humans!
Summary:
Bobbie is a lovely bird with a lot to give, but has a few behaviours that could be worked on with the right forever family and consistent training. She knows some swear words (as a part of a big vocabulary), so families with children should bear this in mind. She does not get on with children very well in general, and has a preference for a male carer. However, she is not afraid of dogs, and likes to talk to the dogs from the safety of her cage.
She will need a home where she can spend lots of time out of her cage and get all of the interaction and love she deserves.
She can be very loving with the right people, and enjoys playing games, cuddling and playing with toys (as well as curtains!). She likes to play peekaboo and count out loud too.
Bobbie is a very sweet bird with a lot to give to the right family who can give her the time out of her cage, love, and attention that she needs to thrive. If you can offer this to her, please don’t hesitate to apply below!
