Best friends forever

Hi, I’m Bobby

PP number: PP1206

Name: Bobby

Species: Congo African Grey

Adoption fee: £300

Hi everyone, my name is Bobby. I am a very lovable Congo African Grey with a gentle temperament and love nothing more than to cuddle with you while we watch TV.

I prefer to spend the majority of time with my safehouse dad. I have made no aggressive moves towards anyone else in the house but they have not got close enough yet so I don’t know if I like them or not!

I have a very large vocabulary and don’t stop talking. I am still learning new material as well and have started to copy safehouse dads speaking and some of safehouse mums whistles.

I would love nothing more than to find a home where I can be out most of the day, relaxing with you whilst you go about your daily chores.

Unknown by safehouse dad.

Current Presentation:

I was a little underweight when I came into safehouse dads. My keel bone was sticking out quite a bit. When safehouse dad first weighed me I was 404 grams. I am now around 415 grams and safehouse dad thinks I could do with a little bit more weight.

I have beautiful feathers over the vast majority of my body, but a few feathers missing behind my wings which you cannot see unless I have a big stretch.

I am happy to do anything as long as safehouse dad is there is give a helping hand. As I am not a young bird anymore I have already learnt a great deal of words and whistles. I am quite relaxed though and will give anything a try once. Safehouse dad hasn’t tried any clicker training or anything like that with me as I will step up on command and will go to bed on command.

I will eat pretty much anything you put in front of me, I am not that fussy. Safehouse dad gives me Harrisons Lifetime Course in the morning, if I eat the 8 pellets he will give me a little bit of AS30 as a good boy treat. I usually have a piece of fruit around lunchtime, I love Apples, Grapes, Pears and Red Peppers. At dinner time I get a mixture of fresh vegetables, I will eat Carrots, Peppers, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Soya Beans, Peas, Sweetcorn, Parsnips, pretty much anything. Sometimes I even get pasta or rice to go with it.

I like to play a lot, perhaps not with toys, perhaps whatever you are playing with at the time. I can always find something to do, be it chewing a box, having a swing, digging in the sides of the sofa for an elusive walnut, anything goes. If you will play with it with me, then even better!

I am a truly lovely bird if I do say so myself, safehouse dad agrees and thinks I am the best safehouse bird he has ever had.

I have some other African Grey friends at safehouse dads. I don’t mind the Timneh’s that much, but the other Congo that is there I like to chase after and torment because hes a big bully to the other Greys. I am not that bothered about the smaller birds though so I leave them alone.

I will keep you entertained and be a loving companion to anyone who is lucky enough to have me.
